Julia Kosinskaja

‘’The Russians keep coming at Ukraine whilst the World looks on’’.

Just an interpretation of an image by our artist Julia Kosinskaja which of course is actually from a children’s storybook.

Julia is from Nikolaev in the south of Ukraine bravely carrying on illustrating despite bombardment.

She has a unique style perfect for classical children’s books with a quirky and humorous touch.

You can view more of Julia’s work on her portfolio page Julia Kosinskaja or visit our website to view all our wonderful illustration.

Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort

Introducing our new illustrator

Introducing our new illustrator Christine Jenny and her very unique style which is cute but at the same time quirky and ideal for novelty books and picture books.

A little bit of quirky

Why is it a little bit of quirky is good?

Also why is it sometimes difficult to decide whether an illustration is stylised or quirky and how some styles are just kooky and others are almost anarchic.

There will always be someone to take your fancy.

Showcasing our illustrators one by one.

This week the second illustrator I’m showing is Robin Puplett.  His style is very colourful and his characters really come alive with his imagination and skill.

I hope you get some inspiration from these to give Robin a go at a picture book or novelty book …..you won’t be disappointed.

You can see more on his portfolio page.

Port and Piracy

This image pretty much sums up being a book packager.

There we are having a new bright idea (the lighthouse light goes on) and at the same time putting our arms around all our special books, when suddenly an unscrupulous pirate sails up and tries to pinch your ideas.

Apart from the ethics of it all, the whole industry does not seem to want or be able to do anything about it.

Maybe they’re all at it ?

Nice illustration Martina.

Martina Zullini was our ‘Star Artist’ last week and you can see more of her illustrations on her page under ‘Portfolio’s’.
